The frontman and lead vocalist of the bachata group Aventura, Anthony “Romeo” Santos is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer.
Romeo was Aventura’s lead vocalist, songwriter, and co-producer. Together with his friends Lenny Santos (“Len Melody”) and Max Santos, as well as his cousin Henry Santos (“Hustle Hard”), he formed the group in 1994.
In an attempt to transcend Bachata’s traditional base and combine it with hip-hop and R&B, Aventura released their debut album, Generation Next, in 1999. The single “Cuándo Volverás,” one of their hit songs, was included on the album.
Romeo announced his departure from Aventura in April 2011 to focus on his solo career, following his success as the band’s lead singer and songwriter.
Romeo Santos declared he would release a new album on February 8, 2022. After initial rumors, Santos himself verified it via social media and YouTube. The fact that this album is titled Formula, Vol. 3 further confirms that it is a part of the Formula series.
Released on September 1, 2022, is Formula, Vol. 3. Fortunately, Formula, Vol. 3 won Best Merengue/Bachata Album at the 2023 Latin Grammy Awards on November 16, 2023, marking the first victory of his career.

Romeo Santos is still alive and well despite internet rumors that he suffered a heart attack and was admitted to the hospital over the weekend.
In an official statement posted to his X account, the King of Bachata addressed the rumors—and indicated he knew who started the gossip.
He added, “You don’t have the power to hurt me, much less the wisdom to do me wrong,” he expressed on Sunday (March 31).
“If you think that they are going to return the concert tickets because of this fake news, then you are more dumb than I thought. You might suffer a cardiac arrest if you are still considering ways to harm me.”
The 2020 Immortal Tour, which Santos and Aventura last collaborated on a few months before the coronavirus pandemic struck, brought in $25.8 million and sold 189,000 tickets throughout 15 shows from February 5 to March 10, 2020, according to data provided by Billboard Boxscore.
